In the realm of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), the emphasis is on enhancing life quality through meaningful skill development. Children's Wellness Centre involves caregivers in all skill-building objectives, employing a compassionate and supportive method to enrich the child's learning journey.

Who is this service for?

This service is for caregivers and children living in Belleville, Kingston, Gananoque, Brockville and surrounding area who are not able to travel to the clinic or prefer receiving services at home or in a community setting (e.g., daycare, school).

Our Home & Community ABA skill building service caters to children, with or without autism, facing challenges in areas the include but are not limited to, pre-academics, communication, play, social skills, emotional regulation, *emerging problem behavior and daily living skills.

*We highly recommend services needed for challenging or emerging problem behaviour be delivered in the clinic with a plan to transfer skills to the home and community.

What to expect

To begin services the caregiver and R.B.A. (Ont.) will meet to discuss goals, funding and determine the most appropriate number of service hours (e.g., from 1.5 hours/wk. to 20 hours/wk.). Following this, an assessment will be completed at the clinic. Caregivers and the clinical team will work together to choose goals that will be meaningful and align with the family's values. Individual teaching sessions will be conducted by a Behaviour Therapist. All Behaviour Therapists will receive supervision by a R.B.A. , and caregivers will be involved by assisting with weekly sessions (as needed) and transferring skills to other environments.
